Slalom Consulting Atlanta

*the majority of work from my time at Slalom remains confidential under a signed agreement. I can speak to my work on all engagements and I made exceptions for a few things below in order to showcase my work, please note all information on this page is confidential.*

I have also included testimonials from Workday that speak to my skills as a designer.

I am passionate about my work and I enjoy being a maker. I have a hands on approach and a positive, infectious attitude. I put those who use my work- product or service- above my own aesthetics or biases. I focus on short term team goals and the overall strategy. I work to play the critical role to create user stories and requirements and I transform them from functional line items to living, breathing artifacts that can drive project progress forward. I handle design challenges and enjoy the challenge of problem solving and bringing structure and a smile to rigorous situations. Our team has been turning nebulous or conflicting goals into cohesive, consistent, and impactful work. I have partnered with my teams and clients to meet and exceed delivery commitments. I have scoped and conducted user research and collaborative design activities.

Skills developed at Slalom: Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Wire framing, Rapid Prototyping, and User Research, digital design, logo design, developing hard and soft skills, and learning new applications. I have been working closely with Experience Strategists, Product Managers, Solution Owners, and Engineering Teams. I work to grow my expertise and craft by staying open minded, open to feedback, and working to learn every day. Growing my knowledge with my clients goes hand and in hand with my passion to be a successful client lead. I have worked with unclear and ambiguous requirements by asking probing questions and working with the client face to face to empathize and ideate. I have created design artifacts such as interactive prototypes, wireframes, journeys, personas, and more. At quick client changes, I have practiced adapting to change with resilience- all while always staying up to date on industry and platform trends. I look at conflict with a mindset of getting it right versus being right! I use my design and experience skills for problem solving and to simplify user experiences. I am always excited to work outside of my comfort zone to solve unique and complex challenges.

During my time at Slalom, I created logos for The Bench, The Grove (Slalom retreats), and Prism (Slalom Pride). I created a logo for Project Kodiak (full logo design and presentation slides), I worked on Coke Channel Interviews, worked on the GSI connect AWS grain machine prototype, worked on and traveled to Chicago for Molex, Cox Auto, and was staffed on Delta multiple times, stand out projects being Crew Mobility and APEX. I created the deck templates for Home Depot’s ProductCon and I worked on various asks on the bench such as Figma proofing and deck building and editing.

Feedback and Testimonials:

Claire just completed her first engagement at Delta Air Lines and wowed the customer with her design expertise. She worked diligently to complete deliverables in a short time-frame all while remaining positive and focused. The best part about working alongside Claire is that she is basically a ray of sunshine. When the engagement encountered its most difficult points, we could always count on Claire to list spirits. i.e. she thoughtfully brought apples from North Georgia down to Delta Air Lines for the team to enjoy and always had a funny anecdote to add to our Teams groups. While she is absolutely an expert in her domain, these soft skills are what can empower teams during the most challenging periods. I feel grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her and hope to be able to have her come back on future Delta projects.

“Claire joined me at the tail-end of the Delta APEX project with the goal of helping wrap up the project. Having joined with a month left of the 8 month engagement, there was a lot of information to sort through, but she did a great job of asking all the right questions, speaking up when she needed clarification, and knowing what information was vital to help finish out the project strong. She collaborated with me and served as a springboard to bounce ideas off of and make an efficient plan for how we'd work together.

She quickly learned what we needed to accomplish, and together we made a plan for the last-minute workshops that the client asked us to facilitate. She took notes during the two sessions, and was also very personable with the client and users, making them feel comfortable. After the sessions, I walked her through my methods for synthesizing user research in Miro. She picked up a lot of the synthesis and note-taking tips I offered very quickly, and even implemented them in the second session we facilitated.

Claire was invaluable in helping me create the final deliverable for the client handoff. She helped me get my ideas down on paper and anchored me when I was feeling overwhelmed. She consistently offered her assistance and we worked together to schedule time to collaborate efficiently as well as intentional time to take breaks and reset.

Thank you, Claire!”

During the last year, Claire has been the embodiment of our core value of staying humble & curious. Early in the year, She helped me take research interview notes during a Coke project. This was my first time working with her and I was struck by how inquisitive and eager to learn she was. This behavior and mindset continued through the year as she repeatedly proactively reached out to me in the spirit of growing her own expertise and skills. I cannot speak to observable growth in her hard skills, but with this positive mindset and sponge-like approach to learning...I am confident her skills are growing in a positive direction.

I wanted to take a minute to recognize Claire for all of her amazing work with the Slalom Academy branding. She came in and right away listened for what was needed and took action! She created several thought-provoking and interesting logos we were able to share with the planning committee and Paul and boy were they wow'ed! She iterated based on feedback, and truly created a creative and safe environment for different disciplines of folks to give feedback. In the end she created a logo we can all be proud of, and I am certain it will make a huge impact when the initiative launches.

Thanks for bringing your best to the table always, Claire. Keep it up!

You brought both a designer and consumer's POV which makes the logo authentic. It was clear from the start that your creative juices were flowing and the space where you get to bring alternatives to your stakeholders helps drive conversation and inspires a path forward.

“Claire presented her draft wireframes for the Crew Mobility Delta prioritized items to Jordan and Jiva this morning.  Jordan (who you know is a tough client) expressed his excitement over how well they were done in such a short amount of time, and seeing the program “come alive”.  He said they will be a huge help when talking with senior leaders and it’s normally “like pulling teeth to get a wireframe.”
Great job @Claire Brucker! Appreciate you digging in and getting it done within such a short timeline!"

Claire, I love hearing this feedback on your work and the value you are bringing to Delta. Keep killin' it!

Claire,

Great work at the Delta Crew Modernization Project! Your wireframes looked fabulous! It was wonderful seeing the client's reactions as they saw their vision come to life in your output. You did an excellent job understanding key stakeholder needs and creating a future state that resonated well with our program leadership. It was a pleasure working with you and I look forward to working with you in the future!

I want to provide feedback to Claire on what an awesome job she did in designing a logo/powerpoint to really elevate the look and feel of Project Kodiak with Coke. We are in a credibility building stage on a very strategic piece of work where the client is relying on us to bring the horsepower in terms of program strategy and accelerating things from the start. Often times, it's the little things that shows Slalom's dedication and allows us to stand out - Claire's logo design work, quick turn around, amazing energy (internally) and ability to take loose requirements and spin something up quickly that truly impressed the client did not unnoticed. Claire's contributions are very much recognized by the team and client and we appreciate her ability to delivery excellently. in such short time! Thank you, Claire.
